Exide Industries Limited has adopted a CSR policy as a corporate initiative. The company continues to feel that concerns about ethical conduct of business and investment in an improved quality of life for those sections of society who live below the poverty line, are extremely important as they would have a significant social impact over a period of time. In continuation of the efforts made in the earlier year, funds were provided to different charitable institutions who are engaged in welfare work.
Funds were also provided towards aid for tribal projects which would ensure sustainable development and source of income for tribal people.
During the year,contributions were made by both the company and its employees to the President’s Fund, Sri Lanka and the relief funds of the Chief Minister of West Bengal (India) and Tamil Nadu (India) for providing relief to the Tsunami affected victims in Sri Lanka and India. |
