Initial Charging Instructions
Fill in with electrolyte of specific gravity of 1.220 ± 0.005 at 27°C.
Leave the battery idle for 10 hours after acid filling and before commencing initial charging.
In order to reduce the charging time, the following routine may be adopted. for INVAGOLD500, the initial charging current may be 14.4A upto 2.36 vpc followed by 7.2A upto 2.75 vpc
Temperature not to exceed 50°C. Rest to be provided if temperature exceeds 50°C till temperature comes down to ambient temperature.
Conditions of fully charged
3 consecutive hourly readings of specific gravity and voltage become constant.
Top of charge voltage will e around 16.2V – 16.5V.
All cells should gas freely.
Minimum Ah has been given.
Specified gravity of fully charged condition - 1.250 +/ - 0.005 at 27ºC
Recharging through Inverter at constant potential mode of 14.4 Volt with limited current as specified. After battery potential reaches 14.4 Volts, the battery should continue in trickle charge mode at constant potential of 13.8 Volts.
In case of bench recharging, the charging rate should be the same as initial charging till 16.5 Volts.

All batteries contain lead, which is harmful for humans and environment. As per statutory requirements, the used battery must be returned to the authorized dealer, manufacturer or at the designated collection centres.
Lead acid batteries, designed for inverter applications are required to ensure the availability of Uninterrupted and regulated power during mains failure or dip in Input Voltage. The challenges in inverter battery should contained with are long and frequent power cuts, short recharge time, high ambient temperature, irregular maintenance. The satisfactory inverter battery must be capable of meeting the following criterion: frequent deep discharge, reliability over months, low maintenance, minimum emission of gasses, no or minimum acid spray / fumes, low floor space requirement, value of money.
